The Mazda B5 engine is a 1.5-liter inline-four engine that was commonly used in a variety of Mazda vehicles. It fits primarily in the following models:

1. Mazda 323 (also known as Familia or Protegé in some markets) – late 1980s through the 1990s.
2. Mazda Etude – a South African variant of the 323.
3. Mazda Demio (first generation) – in select markets.
4. Ford Laser – rebadged versions of the Mazda 323.

This engine is often found in compact sedans, hatchbacks, and some small coupes produced by Mazda during the late 80s and the 90s.
